Richard Dadd's The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke Poster

Richard Dadd's The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke print

Richard Dadd (1 August 1817 – 7 January 1886) noted for his depictions of fairies and other supernatural subjects, had painted The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke for a man who had been impressed with Dadd's work. Dadd spent nine years working on this painting paying close attention to every detail. However even after so long Dadd still considered the painting to be unfinished. To show the painting had meaning Dadd wrote a strange poem in which each character appearing in the picture is given a name a purpose.
